All these were designed and made in my training workshop at the Jam Factory Design Centre between the years 1980 to 1988. That workshop operated on the basis that products made in it were to be sold to offset training and operational costs. The leather workshop/studio was the only facility - out of glass, ceramics, textiles, jewellery - at the Jam Factory that operated year after year meeting its budget.
Most of these on this page were designed and made by me as training projects and as such, went into production. A few of these were trainees' design projects ... (keep in mind that when I say "fashion" now, these were designed and made for production in the 1980s). All machine sewn. I happily acknowledge the hard work and loyalty of a line of "forepersons" in the department, responsible for seemingly everything! To point to just a few, (not in any order of importance) ... Robert McRae Di MacKenzie Jessica Ainsworth Pauline Griffith Jenny Oldfield Thanks, guys! Most "masters" rely on their crew to do hack work and be the real back-bone than most people think. You were all the REAL masters. |
